An alternative key fob?

I come into the house, put my right foot on the stairs and take off my shoe, then put my left foot on the stairs and ... the car opens, because the key fob's in my left pocket.

What a silly design this fob is.

Is there no better alternative?

You could always buy a bungalow Buster :P

Hang your keys up before you take your shoes off!
Where do you hang yours?
I have a big hook in the hallway (not visible from the door!).
I used to always have my keys in my pocket but for some reason I started to hang them up, at least I know where they are now.

Mmm ... my next door neighbour - I promise this is the truth - had his house burgled and his keys stolen from a hook in the kitchen a fortnight ago. Putting new locks on his car took VW several days.

'Volkswares', a Leicester indy, had to replace the locks on my GTI MkII when a thief took the keys from the board of hooks they had by Reception (as all garages used to do).

By chance, I saw the b*stard getting into my car, went up to him and he legged it with the keys.

(Volkswares never did replace the glove compartment lock.)

So, I'm a bit wary of keys on hooks.

Keys are so old hat. 2 weeks ago guys turned up with A low loader at our village pub posing as council employees and took a Transit away while the owner had a beer inside.
I actually smile at the audacity, even though scumbags.

This reminds me of a shop owner in Glasgow, on good days he would ride his Harley in to his shop and park right outside his window.
Local hoods got onto this and parked a large van outside his shop early one morning. He had to park across the road that day and another van came along later and lifted his bike into it and off it went.

My keys are in an easily accesible but hidden metal key press.
It seems to me that the older a man gets, the more keys he acquires.

This is getting serious. I was at home yesterday, 'doing things'. Came out of the house and ... the roof was part-way up. Now, my jeans ain't so tight that every move squeezes the fob. ('Ooh, missus.') In this case, long enough to move the roof.

Does nobody else have this problem? Or is it possible that some do, don't know it and their cars are sitting outside, unlocked?

You need a house with a bigger driveway that puts the car out of range of the remote, problem solved

Don’t show that to Buster, he’ll cut his leg off with it wearing those trousers! :P

If it didn’t use to happen then perhaps you’ve put on weight, or taken too much viagra
Don’t blame that they cut jeans smaller these days either...

Funnily enough that key fob does double as a good bottle opener...
