An Alarming Question

My 6/2006 e85 3.0i Roadster came pre-wired for alarm. I purchased the BMW (65 73 0 309 944) alarm kit and installed the hood sensor, center console ultrasonic interior motion detector, and right rear siren/tilt sensor assembly. All went ok. I then updated the vehicle ECU's via SSS alarm retrofit as detailed in the installation instructions. However, whilst all sensors appear to be working fine, I cannot get the vehicle to respond to physical motion at all. Ironically, my vehicle has been hit not once but TWICE during the the two-week period I have been attempting to install the alarm system. It would have been very important to have the alarm detect the movement from those hits.

But I am now suddenly wondering if I am chasing a problem that doesn't exist. And here is my "alarming question"... Does the alarm retrofit even MONITOR for vehicle movement like being hit in a parking lot? Maybe the tilt sensor is simpler than I had thought; only there to detect someone trying to raise the car to steal the wheels.

Can someone please confirm that the alarm actually SHOULD respond to physical movement like a shaking movement? Thanks! :?

I jacked my car whilst the alarm was active, it set the alarm off. I haven't tried bashing/crashing the car though.
I think the tilt sensor is anti tow??

Thanks Gary. That was not the answer I was hoping for, but it IS what it IS I guess! I thought I remember reading that some people have had their alarms set off by windy conditions. Maybe that is a different year/design. At least now I know I am trying to fix something that appears to be working fine already! :o

My alarm doesn't go (wind) off with the roof down, I did reach inside to grab my cap which was on the seat, the alarm went off.
