I would also say a good,rather than great,talent....and it is tragic,though nobody forced her to take heroin,etc(and i know being thrust into the limelight,with money chucked at her wouldnt have helped,but there are plenty other "stars" with several million quid and lots of publicity,and dont end up junkies)...silly moo :thumbsdown:
I've not really got a view one way or another on this.
However when they keep speaking to her 'friends' who tell us what a shame it is, I wonder how good a friend they were.
I would like to think my real friends would either stop me getting into this sort of mess or help me out of it rather than spout on about what a great person I used to be when it's all a bit late :roll:

Got hold of two tickets a couple of years ago for a small gig at Aintree race course (Liverpool) me and the Mrs took half a day's leave from work few beers before the gig all excited as Amy was in her prime then! Got to the venue with a few hundred others and it was cancelled as she had been on a drink bender! :x Anyway sad she or anyone of that age has died however she had plenty of love and support to stay away from booze and drugs

i couldnt give a rats arse either. i just think about my two family members with cancer who do everything in their power to remain healthy and live a normal life for as long as possible, she just pissed her own life away so i have no sympathy whatsoever.
Glad to see I'm in the majority here: couldn't stand her a a person or rate her much as a singer - just another drug/alcohol addict IMO. I do however feel sorry for her family as I would in any instance where someone dies young.
Glad to see Radio 1 FINALLY got a perspective this morning and ran the Oslo killings as their main story instead of Amy Winehouse. Honestly, listening to the radio on Sat evening when they annouced it, you'd have thought the Queen had died or something...

Well, she did put soul back on the map and was indeed talented, but as far a comaparing her to Franklin...come on. A bit sinic but she was just an opther media tool that made big bucks for somebody else and then they let her die... :x

I can't quite believe some of the comments on here. Yes she had a drug addiction. Yes she had a drink problem. Addiction is a terrifying thing and takes an awful lot of help and support to get over. Unfortunately, she was given very little support from anyone in her life.
The media ripped her life to pieces and only wrote of the bad in her life. Her management pushed her at points where a decent person would have held back. Most of her "friends" were there for the ride. Do you think she could control any of this and push back with the problems she had?
We all have problems in life and can get on without having our lives smeared over every grotty area of the press.
For some of you to say you don't give a toss is - quite frankly - nothing short of disgusting.
