Amy Winehouse found dead, aged 27

Great talent, though not the greatest role model for my kidz

Not a great roll model I agree, but probably the greatest R&B artist since Ella Fitzgerald, and a sad loss at just 27. RIP Amy.

Just tragic and a waste of such talent. Funny how drugs are illegal but you can drink yourself to death, well not funny at all really

A true wasted talent. Thrust on the world stage and hounded by the media. A very sad day indeed.

Not a great role model for kids, but she has been a role model for some women who think it is cool to have a tattoo(tramp stamp)

+1, Beckham the biggest culprit though

Very sad, not a great surprise,
Great Talent? Not sure on that one, good but not exceptional, perhaps more a talent of the moment when few others were news worthy/bankable enough to push forward, i think there's probably more talented people out there not getting the same amount of credit, but all said and done very sad to hear and a great shame for her family to lose someone her age.

Is anyone surprised. I may take heat for saying so. But any professional singer that shows up at concerts drunk, mumbling, or just leaves the stage. Is neither talented, responsible, Nor a role model. Just another case of a young person that got rich and didn't have the smarts to handle it. Then just wanted to feel sorry for them selves. As if she had it so rough.

At least Hendrix, Joplin, Morison would be professional at their gigs. And did their drink and drugs away from the stage, studio and the public that pays their wages.

Flame suit on

+1.

Very sorry for her family - but, as ever, you reap what you sow.

R & B??? What music of hers did you listen to?

I don't feel the loss....she had so many opportunities in her life people would only dream of, and she f&&ked it up.....stupid girl.

If you feel something for anyone, feel it for the poor kids that got gunned down in Oslo.....

Really? I'm sure they had their fair share of bad, drug fuelled gigs in their time. The difference is back then it was put down to rock and roll excess so didn't matter.

Haven't seen much in the way of news, somebody told me about this a little earlier and isn't it sad that news of AW has pushed this off the news,

excellent and sobering point Nickm

While it's very sad for her family & friends, AW's fate is a far cry from the dozens of hapless drug victims who die alone and friendless, exploited by dealers, pimps, etc, with little or no options or choices available to them in their pathetic plight.

You've obviously not seen Janis on stage with a bottle of black jack d in one hand and Southern Comfort in the other ... and Page was often so loaded he had to sit down to play (but he's still with us so doesn't count :D )

Still a cryin' shame though, and the list goes on.....
