AMC London feedback

Had a minor leak on the Zeddy so took her to AMC London. Apparently coolant was leaking so they advised replacement of everything including the coolant unit itself. Also checked over engines, added new coolant and a looked at a few other bits and bobs. Said a couple of other issues were only advisory, so not so worried now. Hopefully this will mean the end of my leak but we shall see.

All in, cost me £300-odd pounds for the work to done. They charge £85 per hour for labour, which is half of what I would've paid at a dealership. Even washed my car, which is great when I can't use a hose, and kept calling me to let me know what was going on and whether to proceed.

Can't say whether they diagnosed the fault correctly just yet but the service was great - I can see why others have recommended them. Worth a look if you live in South West London.

I went there once as they aren't too far from me. The service was good, but I found them a bit pricey so I now go much further to an excellent indy in Buckinghamshire.
Where abouts are you MrGriff and what model is yours? You probably aren't too far from me so I may have seen you around...

 great to hear they still provide the goods. Well worth the trip up Garret Lane.

3.0 53 plate roadster in black with 19s. M-bumper as well. Where are you from? Who was the Indy in Buckinghamshire?

Mr Griff, I now use CPC Performance Engineering in Amersham, South Buckinghamshire. They are an indy that specialise in German performance cars, mainly BMW: http://www.cpcpe.com/

It was £67 for the coolant housing. Probably could've bought it for less online but that takes time. Rest of money was on fitting, topping up this and that and a general engine check. As I said, it was probably more pricey but the leak has gone, which I'm happy about.

Had my Z4 recently complete an inspection II service with AMC. Great service at very fair price. Received an update phone call in the afternoon as promised, and everything seems to be running fine. They do only use Mobil 1, so when I asked what would happen to the Castrol Edge top up I just bought, they agreed to change it over for a Mobil 1 top up......now that wasn't expected!

My car is due for it's inspection II in a couple of thousand miles, and I'm looking at Indy garages in the South West London/Surrey area. Out of interest, do you mind giving me a ball park figure on what price to expect from AMC? They don't advertise a fixed price on their website. I was also looking at GMG Motors in Sutton. Anyone on here with any experience of these guys? Thanks

AdamS, my recommendation is above

The price of Insp II is much greater for the ///M than any other model - what have you got?

Sorry should've been more specific, it's an 2003 3.0i. Thanks for your recommendation BMWZ4MC, though Amersham might be a bit far for me (50miles). That said it is sometimes worth travelling a bit further to find a decent garage. Any other suggestions? (P.S sorry for hijacking)

I can't help with advice on costs then I'm afraid, as mine incurs the additional ///M tax

It was just over £300. The inspection II service changes air filter, polen fitler, spark plugs etc so its not too bad of a deal.

Hello guys, any recent experience with them? I live rather close by so would appreciate reading some stories
