Amber light next to gear shift always on

I have a 2011 Z4 and my gear shift indicator light next to P is always on Even if the car is off it always stays lit, everyone is telling me that this is normal but I'm scared it's going to drain my battery, is this really normal?

Usually they stay illuminated until the car goes to ‘sleep’ which is around 30 minutes or so..

Even if it stayed on the current drain on the LED is negligible compared to the current drains from other systems that stay partly on such as remote control system.

BMW states that you should recharge your battery every 6 weeks if the car is not used, if the battery remains connected..

I would be more concerned that your driving mode buttons have been put on the wrong side TBH. :lol: oke:

It is the "P"issed position.
If drunk it's telling to leave it in this position.

And of course some woman complained it drove great in the "D" posn.
But at night in "N" didn't move at all.
