Amber handbrake light on

If it was brake fluid the light would be red.
It is probably the telltale lights for the ABS and DSC and should be checked incase the systems have failed.

An amber handbrake symbol means "the drive off assistant has failed". This is hill assist, and holds the car in place for a few seconds after the handbrake has been released. It's in the manual, page 51. And no, I don't know it by heart, I have a PDF of it on my iPad :P

I havent had the brakes bled for 2 years and pedal is a bit soft.

Regardless of the fault your fluid should be changed. It needs doing every 2 years. Purely time, not use or service related.

The manual says get it seen to as soon as possible. I have no idea how it's fixed :idunno:

Don't know if it's connected to any other systems and so could cause some kind of fault anywhere else. Feckin light would drive me nuts though
