Amazon :-(

Anyone had this before.

I ordered a shower radio from Amazon which was eligeable for collection from a local Amazon Collection Point which was my local Co-op post office as not home during the day. Item was delivered ok and picked it up but unfortunately the thing was broke, speaker was dead, fair doos. Contacted Amazon and they said they would ship a replacement out and to give them my shipping address. Naturally I opted for the post office again. Didn't hear anything more for over a week then heard from Amazon saying how did we do etc. I contacted them back to say I hadn't received the replacement radio and they e-mailed back with a delivery status to say the customer i.e. post office refused delivery and sent the bloody thing back to Amazon. Haven't spoken to the Post Office but just to say if in a similar position with Amazon then get the item shipped to your home address the second time around rather using a local collection point. Seems odd the post office sent the item back.

After reading the title, I'm at a loss of why you think it's Amazons fault :idunno:

Also you can set up a safe place to store it if you are out, shed or outside loo

I guess its not really Amazons fault and they have offered a replacement without me sending the old one back, however my last few purchases from Amazon haven't been good regarding the poor quality of the goods, i.e. not working or have plainly been used and resealed in the box. I guess Amazon can't be responsible for policing all their sellers.

My wife bought me a shower radio one Christmas, bloody useless. Couldn't really hear it with the water streaming down and it filled up with water over the first few days and (obviously) stopped working.

However on the subject of Amazon I have noticed a general decline in delivery service recently on the few things that we have used them for.

Is this maybe to make their Prime service seem a good idea?

No Tim, it wasn't as sophisticated as that  it was a present from the wife after all.

Really though, I wouldn't spend any serious money on this, in practice it's about as much use as a bicycle is to a fish, unless you spend several hours of the day in the shower that is.
