Amazon bargain springs!!!!

Hmmm. Wondering about my Eibachs now... As mine is 15mm lower as standard they should drop it another 15mm according to the spec. Which may be ok, but I think I need to do some measuring on the fronts before I shell out to have them fitted, only to maybe shell out to have them removed again !

Not that I know of. I'm not sure I've got bolts in my arch liner like you either. I'll have to check. Looking back at some pics of my old car http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=16225 it was as low, if not lower than yours and on 19"s, and yeah I had to take bumps slowly, it might slightly scrape on a fast bumpy road, but nothing destructive and if careful nothing to worry about.

I've just booked mine in for the full front suspension refresh and spring replacement on wednesday, pick it up thursday, expecting it to feel like a new car! :driving: Will be around £800 all in with parts and labour so it better be worth it! :roll:

Yeah, but how do you know ? Getting a bit Andysat about this now :cry:

Perhaps I should spend the £400 to fit springs and get alignment done on a leather dash instead ?

Might swing by a friend tomorrow who has a tyre shop to try on some new shoes for the Z. Get some stretch to see if it helps :D
 
After a 50mile drive today, taking the spacers off seems to of cured the rubbing issue. Lots of B road action with no issue! :thumbsup:

Still gonna try the tyre stretch is I love the look with spacers. Yes it's all cosmetic but I'm never gonna race it or really push it hard so I can live with a little stretch!
 
LukeMace, these are the ones I bought, not sure they are right though. Will let you know when they arrive as they should be here tomorrow.

As for stretched tyres... I would replace the bolts and consider changing the springs before doing that if you still have a problem. Personally I think stretched tyres look wrong, potentially compromise the integrity of the tyres themselves, and of course you increase the chances of taking a chunk out of your alloys. Just IMO though :wink:

Luke - these ones work, just a little bigger than the ones fitted already. You push it in, snap the long lug off, then push the lug into the hole till flush. Bit fiddly, but look fine :thumbsup:

Think Koolchris is going for the dash... If I decide not to put them on then you can have them as I will either do it or not before travelling up for the meet on the 25th. Consider that a promise, but not - if you know what I mean :D

Fit them and change the spacers to smaller ones if rubbing is a problem. If you're really stuck, I'll buy your spacers for my 320d :thumbsup: How does 50 quid sound? :D
 
Anyone had any issues with the self levelling xenons when lowering their car?
Now it may be because I had a heavy load in the boot but this evening the beam seemed very low? This due to being lowered or amount of weight in the boot?

wouldn't they be high if the weight was in the boot? :?
 
The whole point of self-levelling would defeat this. The only reason I could see this happening is the arm has been broken or not reattached maybe.

Mine went into the garage today. They're checking the solid brake lines before fitting the springs, as I had an advisory they were corroded. Anyone have a ball-park figure for replacing? (Solid, not flexi-hoses). Hopefully all fine then the springs will go on, pick up tomorrow. :driving:

I'd swap the 15s to the back, put 12s on the front, and have 20s spare. So £50 sounds reasonable :D
 
You need to twist something on the light unit iirc. Unsure if zeds have them but thats what I had to do on another car I had with xenons and self pevelling.

Tried that but to no avail :(
Getting a grinding noise now each time I turn the lights on. The motors go down, grind a little, then come back up again! No idea what's up now!
