My wife got side swiped on a traffic island while driving her Audi TT last Friday. Did a fair amount of damage to both cars.

The other driver immediately admitted total responsibility and the Audi is now at the body shop being fixed up totally on the other party's insurance! We even got a mini cooper lease car while hers is being fixed!

You don't often get that these days.

Yep, Gill is fine, only slightly shaken. Tough old bird! Fit enough to carry on with her shopping expedition anyway, the Audi was still driveable. Thanks for the concern.

She told me as we were waiting for the mini today that she had been offered a BMW 428 but didn't fancy anything that big, being used to the TT. As I have been waiting to even get a glimpse of the new BMW I was rather shocked, to put it mildly.
 
I had a woman crash her polo into the back of my boxster in 2007. I had an e46 m3 smg for 2 weeks. I was gutted when mine was fixed as I preferred the m3. The sham of it imo is that I later learned the m3 was being charged to her insurance at 700 quid a day. No wonder premiums are what they are. Glad everyone's health is in tact. As said. Cars can be fixed.....

You certainly don't get that much nowadays. I was a witness to an accident just before Christmas where an older woman turned into a junction, turned round and pulled straight back out in front of the car in front of me intending to go back the other way - at about 5-10mph max. The car in front had no chance to react, hit her rear quarter and spun her across the road onto a driveway. Her exact words were "my son says I shouldn't admit any liability - it's not my fault as she (the other driver) sped up and crashed into me". Her car sat on the verge for 4 or 5 days - I bet she want even insured... Though it was definitely written off.
