Hi all,

Just wanted to share my achievement

Having to drive to coventry for a meeting with a colleague i though i would prove all the critics wrong regarding MPG.. So after a spirited drive on the way I decided the return journey I would test my patients and go for MPG. After 62miles of steady driving (accelerating slowly and sticking to speeds) I achieved a whopping 45.5mpg :o !

Here's the evidence

Thats a good total. Its the same with the M I have seen 35 out of it on occasion of careful driving.

Tried the same thing in my 3.0si a few weeks ago, managed 42.something, though I had the roof down - far too boring to do more than once though!

What he didn't say is he broke down half way and half of that figure was being towed by the RAC van ;)

Yes very boring and steady... Watched it tumbled quite rapidly after my drive home from the office, a 'little' less boring :driving:

PS. this wasnt taken on Monday when the car broke down and I was towed by the RAC! lol, as the date on the photo shows!!!

Managed 43.2 MPG driving from Glasgow to Beaconsfield, had to stick to 70 mph the whole way to get it but wasn't in a rush (only took 6hrs 30). Doubt I would have got that if I hadn't taken the M6 Toll though!

I managed to get 47mpg out of my 3.0si after being stuck behind lorries all the way up the M42.

As you see the average 27mpg is a bit more like it!
