Amazed by new tires

So today I replaced the Potenza Runflats that came with my car.

Now wearing Continental ContiSport 5's all round. I'm utterly astonished at the difference in ride quality. I think i'd just come to be used to the harsh ride from the original run flats? Feels like a proper, comfy, GT car now while cruising. Even though I'm still "bedding in" the tires, I can already tell these things grip like hell.

I cannot recommend highly enough ditching the runflats at the first opportunity.

Don't have any pictures of the new setup, but here's a couple from the last time I gave her a proper wash!

Ditching runflats is probably to most common suggestion to improve your care - ever

I hope the folk that designed the bloody things hang their heads in shame. They are expensie yo buy, don't wear well at all, ruin the carcass if you do drive flat so can;'t be repaired, I would rather wait for the RAC to save me!

Your BMW is very nice BTW!

Hello

Good choice of tire .. just out of interest what made you decide on that brand? was it good advice or just the deal on price ?also are you running stock sizes

Just curious as I am changing my runflats out so just trying gauge owners reasons for their choice .. to be honest I was going for Michelin PSS but these seem a good alternative choice

thanks for the help in advance ..

My rears are almost ready for a change if you don't mind me asking how much were your new tyres / I'm giving it serious thought about changing. What do you carry incase of the dreaded puncture.

May I ask for the people who have changed from run flats to normal if there insurance premium went up by much ? Just like a rough idea and if the insurance company was happy about changes to car.

Rarely affects premiums but can affect if you are covered or not.

Apparently.
