AM radio problem

I don't use the AM radio that often so I don't know when it happened, but if I go over a bump it loses a connection somehow.

However, if I switch to FM and back to AM, it's fine until I hit a bump in the road again. Any thoughts?

I replaced the aerial recently yes. Any thoughts on what I need to check?

Just googled and found this, which suggest the FM is in the bumper:

"I can't see why they can't have AM reception through the same antenna as the FM antenna (buried in the bumper)."

Guess I should check the main aerial and see if it is losing a contact somehow (although can't do it this week as battery is disconnected - seats are off tomorrow to be coloured red )
