Am I potentially heading for trouble??

On several occasions when putting the roof down everything starts off ok. Windows partially down, roof starts to go then stops, motor is still going, well making a noise anyway. A quick nudge and away it goes ......up and down all day long with no issues.

Anyone had this before?? Wondering if it's just the locking catches sticking?? Or is the portent of something more serious lurking around the bend.??

Any feedback greatly appreciated as always.. :D

Might be low on fluid, best case
Get up to Dave's near Durham have it relocated an checked over, if it's still at fault then at least it's an easier swap

Check the release cable is fully in the correct position and adjusted correctly . If the motor is still running then as mentioned it could be short of fluid, but if it was then it's unlikely to work for the rest of the day without issue , it would get stuck every time . It should take around 10 to 12 seconds to fully open or close .

Hi mine did something very similar. Every now and again, after the car hadn't been used for a while the Windows go down motor makes the noise and the roof didn't move so I would give it a helpful nudge and away it would go. Someone on the forum mentioned putting some WD40 where the catches pull the roof in for the last 2cm or so at the top of the windscreen to ludricate it and since I did this it hasn't stuck since.
