Am I just getting old!

Been looking at wheel options for my e85 roadster, and have to say, I’ve seen a few I like.
Some of the m sport are nice, 405,224 for example.
But have to say, some of the wheels out there are imo just plain awful.
I appreciate everyone’s taste is different, but some I see would be better suited to a 70’s hot rod.
Some dare I say , would devalue your car.
Perhaps I’m just old?
Whatever happened too keeping it classy😀

There’s a young lad driving around local to me
Renault Clio, nice little car, but the wheels !
Looks like it’s been dropped from a tall building and the wheels stick out at 45 degrees.
Perhaps I’m missing out😳

Also interested in people’s thoughts on black wheels on a Black roadster.
Seen some that look good.

Think yourself lucky. I had to pass this Metro 6R4 'replica' on the way to work quite a few times last year!

Is that photoshopped? Surely it can’t be real!

What concerns me about changing wheels etc is an article in todays press about insurance companies refusing to pay up if car differs from how it left the factory and mods have not been declared. There was even mention of additional stickers on cars affecting insurance premiums. You should have seen what I used to get up to as a youngster but I would have second thoughts now about doing anything.

What's even funnier is they have used a five door metro and cut around the door handle. So how do you open the back doors ?..

At least they didn't try and fit a XJ220 body kit.

As to black wheels. They have their pace. Just not on any of my cars. :D

One of my early cars was a VW Beetle while I was at college. I reversed the wheels because they looked wider ‘inside out’ as it were. What an idiot! Mind you my wife says I haven’t changed much over the years.

Looks to me like they have cut through the middle of the rear arch boxing so the back door still opens. Obviously has mad skillz and thought of everything. :D

You could just declare them with the insurance company :?

When you're young you want to be different and especially different from your parents. Unfortunately we become more conformist as the years pass by.

Youthfulness is wasted on the young.

Keep thinking my 17” wheels are a good compromise between looks and ride quality. I like 18” wheels, but not enough to fork money out and have a harsher ride.

Rear cubby is a good place for my Werner’s Originals though.
