Am I being unreasonable (need opinions) (turns out i wasn't)

The only male I would like to go shopping with would be a gay one!
Why she wants to go shopping with a bloke is hard to understand.

He may want her opinion on a gift for his new woman or female opinion on some expensive item of clothing/watch etc.. for all we know. Liam any idea if this was the case?

I ended my last relationship due to my ex thinking it was ok to have daily text/phone conversations with her ex, despite my increasingly assertive protests. I'd be extremely annoyed in your situation.
Brad, that's way too much, daily contact. Well, I think I would feel v.uncomfortable if a significant ex.

It was too much and very uncomfortable so I set her free. Perhaps they're back together but who cares - I've upgraded! :D

By the way, thanks all for your input, especially ruby and carol, talking about it has helped (usually I bottle it like a real man lol)
You're very welcome. I don't think you're being unreasonable.
Sit her down and talk it out. I'm sure she'll understand if you explain that it makes you feel uncomfortable.

jealousy ruins a relationship

This is very true..but once its there it is very hard to ignore. I think there are usually reasons for having that gut instinct of feeling jealous, I mean for example if your partner gives off the 'player' vibe or you know the other person is interested in your girlf/boyf and doesn't like you.. sort of thing. I also think some people are generally more jealous than others, might stem from a variety of different reasons from their past relationships/childhood/parental relationship kind of thing. I won't bother going into detail of any of this, but you get my drift.

Glad to have been of some help, I love this sort of chat (like a real girl). Hope it gets sorted.

Sorry Liam but I think your relationship with this girl has reached the usual crossroads - it is clear that you think she " is the one " but from what you have have said she may not think the same about you . If you really love someone you don't do things that may hurt them. I would say you need to explain to her why you are unhappy about this "friendship " but you have already done this - it is up to her to respond . At the end of the day if she really " loves " you she will cool off with this bloke. The jealousy you feel will continue to eat away at you and eventually will destroy your relationship with her. Ask her if she wants a long term relationship as it appears you do and force the issue - a bit risky may be but a clean break now would be better than a slow death and you retain your dignity. Hope it works out for you both mate.

Fella, i'll be blunt, go find another chic that's not going to mess with your head, there's PLENTY out there.

She doesn't respect you coz if she's not willing to listen over this, no matter 'how innocent' she says it is consider when something really important happens - what's the chance she'll just shaft you & do what's best for her?

Think of the positives ... Xmas is coming, you don't have to buy her a present & you'll be FREE to chase all that fresh ..... :crazydude:

PS: I don't keep my ex's numbers or stay in contact coz as a bloke the temptation to load one in the chamber is always there... it's not our fault, it's in our DNA!!!

I,m with Ranski on this ......... just cos the man doesnt make a move doesnt mean he isnt waiting for you to..

I too have heard a guy only wants to be friends cos he wants sex. But that's quite a sweeping statement. I have plenty of male friends who are just good friends.

Harry Burns: No you don't

Ha ha! Missed this last night. I have to agree..in the Harry met Sally arguement I'm overall with Harry.

Liam don't listen to these harbingers of doom and gloom. Don't give up on your relationship just yet!
You can't chuck the towel in because of this, it needs more talk between the two of you so you understand where you both are. If she is adamant, after you telling her exactly how you feel, that she is still going to continue her relationship with this lad then that's the time to think about what you want to do.
