Am I being unreasonable & anyone live near Bradford?

No you’re not being unreasonable, I agree with Rob he’s maybe using you as a backup/default buyer. He’ll get his money before Xmas, you’ll get the wheels mid January.

I hope you can get someone on here to sort you out

You’ve also posted along a similar vein of something I was going to post about but honestly just don’t have the energy :headbang:

To summarise MOST people selling stuff just now, especially cars, are plain and simple @RSEHOLES!!!!

I’m trying to buy a car for my young fella’s 17th, the responses are staggering.

Two standouts

Me: “Can you please give me details of Service History and has the cambelt been changed?”

Response “Why don’t you f@@k off and look at cars you can afford!!!”

Me “ Can you please tell me if the car has Full Service History/cambelt change, and how many keys does it have?”

Response “Your just a time waster asking me all them questions don’t bother wastin ma time asking any questions, I’ve got genuine buyers interested”

Both first contacts with each seller. 1st one was a “lady”

Thats exactly how I sell my cars - insult the potential buyer and then he comes and pays £500 over what I asked for, always worked a treat for me :headbang:

Courtesy cost nothing and when your selling something then it should be a pre-requisite - I would walk away from a deal with tae attitude shown above

Correct, common courtesy costs nothing!!!

I’ve walked away from both, the first one a bit of a fecker as it was a really nice clean car. If it’d progressed anywhere near to being a strong possibility I was going to give you a shout as not too far away from you.

But after getting told to f@@k off at first contact it obviously never progressed. The wee fella said send her a picture of the M40i with the caption you’ve no idea what I can or can’t afford and then tell her to shove her car up her @rse. No idea where he gets it from

What was it and where - you could send a pic of the Calibra and maybe they will feel sorry for you

No they are selling something and need to act like actual humans rather than chimps

I tend to steer clear of ebay these days and only buy stuff of minimum value. I will only buy off one seller for expensive items whom I've dealt with for years and delivers the items personally.

I've had a couple of bad experiences, one was with again selling some BMW alloys. They were on buy it now for 900. This chap contacted me and offered 400. I declined and they came back to say they could collect that day, I said great buy it now is 900. They came back and offered 500 cash on collection. I again declined and they came back again saying they knew where I lived and they would visit and do me over  Ignored them and the next day came back apologising and offered 600 :headbang: I ignored the next half dozen emails and removed the listing. Ended up selling on Gumtree to a really nice chap for the 900 who travelled from London to Staffs on an awful snowy day, all painless.

2nd experience, I saw a guitar 🎸 for 1200 quid and the seller was open to offers and accepted PayPal but no buy it now. As it was a good price I offered the 1200 via PayPal but the seller changed their mind and wanted a bank transfer instead outside of ebay. I declined and explained I wasn't prepared to pay straight into their account unless it was via PayPal to cover myself. They declined so I said forget the sale and said good luck with the sale but next day changed their mind and agreed to payment via PayPal. I paid but then the seller became aggressive to me as they didn't realise they have to send the item and then I confirm I've received it before the PayPal funds are released. The person reluctantly agreed to send the guitar but continued to send me abusive messages through ebay.

The world is full of idiots.

Tim.

I don’t use eBay on principle and especially with PayPal as it gets very expensive to sell with the various fees involved. I’ve had good experience selling on gumtree although there are some dodgy characters about on there.

To be fair, the chap only sent one message that was borderline stressy, and he’s been good as gold since I offered this alternative ‘no wrap - no effort’ courier service and sorted it all my end.

It was a couple of days before Christmas and no doubt he was busy, as most of us were

Update;

These have been collected today and the courier took quite a number of photo’s to demonstrate the condition on collection, which they have emailed through to me earlier. The seller said it was really easy, and is also comforted by the fact they took so many photo’s.

He also said that they were in the van for some time before leaving, so hopefully a good sign that they do actually do what they say they do

If this works as well as it seems to be (famous last words!) then completely worth it from my perspective, bearing in mind the costs in time and materials to properly wrap a set of wheels for the likes of Paisley freight.

Thanks …after my last experience of wrapping full tyre / wheel sets I certainly won’t be doing any more sales on that basis…took me about 3 hours and £12 of tape..fortunately we had plenty of cardboard..

I used Shipley for my Jeep dock to home transport…that worked out well.

So, wheels landed this morning,

Only delay was due to my own availability.

I’ve never seen so many padded quilts/blankets in the back of a van before!

Clearly plenty of stuff onboard, but couldn’t identify any of it as it was a sea of soft padding everywhere.

From my perspective, we’ll worth the additional cost for this particular set of wheels as they’re in superb condition, and were an excellent price. No hassle for the seller and no hassle for me

Obviously a good service, funnily enough I have a Portuguese lady messaging me today needing advice, basically I did a removal into storage for her a couple of months ago and whilst I was in Spain working recently she kept messaging me to see if I could move her items again to her new place obviously I couldn’t, so she went on anyvan and got a courier who has damaged her table he has taken pictures of the damage and uploaded them onto the app to cover himself basically showing anyvan that the table is damaged but not by him.... anyvan and shiply are online intermediaries and the contracts are between customer and courier anyvan/shiply take a cut and walk away they will do nothing to protect anyone.

The Portuguese lady can only give people the opportunity to make things right financially and if no success (which she will not get) leaving a bad feedback to help future customers is all she can do...it is a minefield using online companies they are disgusting, greedy, they fabricate messages, the fees are sometimes near on 50% when I do European jobs especially anyvan jobs ....so say I get £1000 for a European removal the customer pays near on £2000 yes seriously and people never realise just how greedy these people are, and the initial deposit is the fee the rest is the payment the courier receives on delivery people are always shocked the final payment is all the courier gets, they will not help anyone once money is paid....I’m glad you got a good service true blue they seem very professional although so am I and I would have been cheaper and am a z4 enthusiast....and all the picture taking is only to protect themselves nothing else but it’s understandable in this rip off age.

NB and no I did not damage the table when we moved it into storage the lady was with us working

There would definitely be demand for a ‘No-Wrap’ wheel courier service, and I’d be happy to use you in future

It was just unfortunate timing in that I’d already paid the reservation feee to Shiply; From memory £9 went to them and the rest to the courier. I’m guessing if I went back to the courier directly it would be cheaper.

There’s always people buying and selling wheels and other Z4 parts at a distance on the forum and I’d happily consider using you in future as I said.

no worries, it can be difficult for me to do a quick small job anyway...I quoted £50-£60 for moving the wheels advertised yesterday on here but by the time I saw any message and replied they had been booked to somewhere else, I have to literally log in to see messages which obviously can be hours or minutes...I like helping people I’m on a Ducati forum I help people on there moving bikes and bits occasionally....I’m impressed with the service you received funnily I was reading about that company via reviews just yesterday on shiply
