None of this makes sense…isofix IS for child seats so what is an isofix top anchor used for?
Some reading for you
https://www.fundacionmapfre.org/en/blog/top-tether-in-child-restraint-systems/
I am out, no idea what i am talking about.
My kids are 25 and 27 so need no protection. Up to you.
Dude, look at this pic.... my car
#1 is a lashing eye as mentioned in the manual pic you posted, barely strong enough to hold a fag packet.
#2 is what OP is asking about, this is part of the body/chassis.
They are clearly not the same.
Look at the manual picture you posted, WHAT DO YOU SEE? DO YOU SEE WHAT THE OP IS ASKING ABOUT?
My car has 470 Child Seat Isofix Attachment, it clearly won't use the piece of crap at the top of the rear firewall.
It DOES need a third location for a strap, it will be the lower.
Just for your entertainment, attached is a pic from my manual, believe it or not they are not the same manuals worldwide.
It shows the location of the ISOFIX brackets in the seat, and explains how to find the lower anchor point by moving the seat back rest forward to reach it, i.e. the location in the OP's question. It's Japanese, but my wife is quite good at it
So yeah, take your pick.
