Hi everyone

As you prob know I'm a newbie, love the Z4, not keen on the suspension on the m though, but that's a different story.

Looking at the car from the front it looks like you have 4 lights.

The 2 outer ones function on mine. However for the life of me I can not work out what the inner 2 are for....

Or am I just being bloody thick !!!! Not fog lights as they are only on the rear

Help

Mitch

Full/Main beam headlights on mine but maybe M's are different ..I'm sure an M owner will be along soon.

Just saw this on Bimmerforum :-http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?1538430-A-(very)-stupid-question-about-Z4-Xenon-headlights

Hi fixit

Thanks for the reply, I thought that but no full beam is my outer lights....

Ps everyone ... There is a bulb in the inner ones lol !!!!

Mitch

The inner lamps serve only an aesthetic purpose, they don't light up.

Outer lamps are xenon dipped and full beam lamps.

Halos light on both rings however.

Maniac

Thanks, your a star.... Thought I was going bloody daft.... Now mmmmmm wonder if you could add spots in them .....

If they are the same as the older one series with xenons then the bulb on the inner light lights the angel eyes.

1) there is no assembly to take bulbs on the inner lense.
2) if you did find a way, they've not been designed to take lights so would shed illegally shaped light.

My suggestion, be happy the way it is and move on to modding something else!

Are the inner lights for when you have adaptive lights? Illuminates at slow speed to see the inner front corner when lock applied?

I have an E85 with zenons.
They provide all the light anyone should ever need while sharing the road with others.
That said, Maniac observes that the dummy lens' are for aesthetic purposes only.
I say ..Shame on those BMW engineers that let this situation happen.

I think the BMW Zenons with angel eyes look better than pretty much anything else out there, so I liked the fact that the designers put look over function
