As an ex aircraft mechanic, I like to think I'm quite handy with the spanners and that I return thinks to the state they were in before I started the job! I did a bit of fettling on the car last night as you do and finished up quite pleased with myself. I drove the car into work this morning and whilst gazing admiringly at her noticed something a little different - you can draw your own conclusions!!

The cup from your trolley jack got stuck in the jacking point.

Yes it did mate but I only realised when I got to work. It could have been nasty for me and other mootorists if it had fallen off and flicked up!

Surprised it stayed in! I lost my rubber jack pad the same way :headbang:

It looks like you don't have one of those. I'd suggest buying one. They're cheap on eBay and they save you damaging your jacking points.

I've got one of those, but with it resting on the jack the clearance isn't enough for me to get the jack underneath!

Have you got a low profile jack? I bought the Arcan trolley jack from Costco and it's a great piece of kit. Probably paid for itself already with the amount of times its been used

No mines a standard one, squeezes under just as it is. It's pretty old mind... maybe it is time to upgrade!

It sounds like it may be time to invest in a new jack - I got a cheap low-profile one from SGS Engineering and it's low enough to use the jacking pad as well.

Mind you I didn't buy it until my old (as in 30+) trolley jack died!
