Are there two types of aluminium trim?...I saw another E85 today and the trim looked much brighter than mine, mine is a sort of dirty grey aluminium?

Check realoem.com but as far as I'm aware it only comes in on scratchable version

Try giving your ALU a going over with some AG polish or similar cutting agent then apply some wax to it , works a treat

There are two types. Pre face lift (<2006) is not so bright a post face lift.

Edit: It might have been changed before the facelift. It could also be the when they stopped doing the grey dash they changed it as it was on daveg car I saw the dull trim which had a grey dash.

That sounds right, it is a grey colour, my previous car Audi A6 had a much brighter trim colour which contrasted well with the black leather. I may consider a brushed aluminium wrap as a low cost option.

Ah I see on that site realoem.com (thanks Ranski) there is a grau (grey) metal as well as the aluminium trim...that's me in grey then.
