Alternatives to Carly

As per the title, as there any alternatives that don't required a ludicrously expensive adapter, and then an annual fee to keep using the software? I don't mind paying out on something, but annual fees are a complete and utter rip-off!

I want to unlock some features on my Z4, as well as my 123d and 320d.

I use Carista with Veepeak OBD module which cost me around £30, Carista is a subscription but you can choose just a weeks subscription for £10, that way you can get whatever coding you need doing in that time at minimal cost. I also used BimmerCode which has a one off fee but it wouldn't allow me to code window and mirror closing with the remote.

Few people on here have it and will prob offer to code it for free or next to nothing...

By the looks of it Carista won't let you code the Z4, it's only basic ODB functions (that 99% of readers can do).

I have Delphi for all of the "normal" functions, I needed Carly just for coding options.

OBDeleven is currently a VAG-only product and a fantastic one at that - no BS subscription required, you just buy the dongle, download the free app, and IF you want to, you can purchase credit to make a buttload of coding changes via simple 1-press "apps". Or you can make a gazillion changes via direct access to the control modules and long coding. They are currently working on adding BMW, though no completion date is yet being mentioned. I'll post here when it does come out.

Actually you can code with Carista the same as what you can do with Carly, although for some coding it is only available in their beta program for now. I have coded windows closing / mirrors folding with remote key, digital speedo, turn indicator flash 5 times on short press, roof opening / closing upto 30 KMPH etc with Carista.

What age is your Z4?
