Alternative to the oem BMW aux cable?

Cable arrived yesterday. Looks all good with the 3 wires at the correct pin positions. Fitting it this evening, so I'll have a yay or nay :thumbsdown: answer today.

Nice one mate keep us posted! Is it also possible to take the pins out at the connector end so you could merge the connectors with the bluetooth plug like I have?

not with THIS cable... depends how they've made the plug, but it should have removable pins....

OK.... Have tried this cable and it does not seem to work

Having stripped back the heat shrinked sleeve at the 3.5mm jack end, I've found there to be no Resistor or Capacitors in place. So I'm guessing this is why?

So it's a trip to Maplins tomorrow morning to buy them and solder them in place as per sk93's guide

One other thing. What is the white connector that plugs into the left hand socket on the back of the stereo for?

Tried modding the cable with the capacitors, resistor and some shocking soldering from myself. Still didn't work.

So......that's a fail for me lol!!

Fitted the OEM Aux-in cable this morning 30 minutes work 1hour less than the stealer technician,i fitted mine to exit from the removable panel under the heater controls like some others have done.Just out of interest where would the stealers have placed the jack socket if they had fitted it?
