Alternative 18" BMW Alloys

I'm considering upgrading to 18" alloys, I'd like to stick to genine BMW ones if possible. I do like the 108's but they do seem quite hard to come by in good condition then there's the corrosion problems.

What I'd like to know is are there any Z's out there running other BMW wheels and more to the point do they suit the car?

Any advice appreciated as always.

:)

18" Double-spoke 125 wheels. Easy to clean.

Are they the ones from your other Z4M wheels post? I'm not clued up on all the numbers! The pics of your look really good!

Wheels used on M Roadster/Coupe are more expensive. I think 125's is cheaper. Spokes are wider than M wheel's. But most 5-spoke wheels on Z4 look nice anyway. Avoid 135's, I had them on my E60, they are difficult to clean.

I run 18" 107 ellipsoids - classic ( I know they look a lil mucky in my signiture!)

They are less common, and look nice too. Too many Z4 with corroded 108's. :(

Even less common are the 203s:

and on my car:

Hi Ian, I was in the same boat as you, I decided on BMW wheels but didn't fancy the maintenance of the 108s (5 star split rims).

The ellipsoids look great and some go for very cheap on eBay, albeit in need of attention.

The 203's above are clean and nice, I decided on them at one point but just could not find any!

I looked at some from the sportier 1 series models, but they were thinner wheels than those on the Zeds so risked looking lost in the arches, anyway eventually I settled on the ones from the M (see my post from today) because there are more about and pretty cool IMO!

There are not a load to go for, this site shows what would fit http://users.skynet.be/zouz/e85_wh.htm but whether or not you see any is a different matter!

Best of luck!

The Ellipsoids would be a nice choice and especially as you have a Silver Z4 the colour the car was shown in with Ellipsoids i remember sitting in one on a stand at Brands Hatch never thought i would own one

Ellipsoids all the way :D

108's are nice looking wheels, no doubt, but the fact they want to corrode if you look at them makes them less nice.

I love the look of MV3's.

The reps and OEM ones seem pretty common on eBay - you'll be looking at least £500 for a decent set.

The 203s do look good though.

Split-spokes are too wide. Not for Z4. Get M Double-spoke 224. :)

They're advertised as being - 8inc et47 front and 8.5inc et50 rear and fitting a Z4. Must admit wheel sizes are like voodoo to me, so confusing. :?

I didn't mean the width of the wheel, I referred to the width of the spoke.
