Also in relation to coupe / roadster...

Hmm could be right, still annoying though.

Well, think about it Mike, driving around with a dog face like that, what would you expect . . . :P :D :D
:D imagine I looked more like Johhny Depp, it would probably be worse

Maybe people are scared by my muzzle.

Hi,

I dont think its a Z or BM problem, sometimes i feel everyone is staring at me in the Box with the roof down.....I was naked at the time thought lol Kidding (for the yanks)
Not sure, because I never seemed to get much hassle in the Z4 at all, seems to be the oversized three pointed star on the SLK which annoys people for some reason.

And a bit O/T here, but I don't often go right into the city centre much (out of town shopping and all that), but like I said we've recently won a project right in the middle of town. The amount of crazy people I see in the centre, it's scary really - where do they come from??

no top down probs up here in scotland but my wife gets more attention when she has the roof down than me,but all guys love a girl in a sof top ... right?!!......

You live in Edinburgh don't you, must admit I never had any problems with the Z4 or my MX-5 there either, although I only ever stayed there for a day or two at a time.

Nothing but love for me and I live near Detroit, I have never had a negative experience nor do I feel any more exposed with the top down than when I am walking down the sidwalk. 8)

Well it seems to be more of a UK thing then. Cheap ///Ms, cheap petrol, Hooters, no abuse...about time I emigrated to GA I reckon :D

Hi mike, I have been driving top down almost every day since I came on leave 1st September and I must say no abuse or worries, yesterday some kids shouted 'nice car mister' but I agree with some other comments, location, location. Most of wiltshire is quiet but I know what you mean, stopped in traffic with a lot of people passing by you can feel exposed but I will try to keep the top down for the next two weeks, due back then so no driving on 4 wheels for 4 months.

Yeah, she's probably pissed because her shirt blew off....

Yeah that was a weak joke. Anyways, to the topic....

I've not had a negative fault/reaction to me driving the car here in Vegas. Top up or down. Most of the comments I get are nice car etc. Don't get me wrong, this is Vegas (almost as bad as Cali) and I have been cut off/tailgated. But as I drove my truck the other day, it happens just as much in that as the Z4. I just notice it more in the Z4 as it's smaller and everything is so much bigger.
Well except that Lotus that passed me. Blimey! I thought my car was small! Lotus has us beat.

I used to get lots of comments when I had the Roaster. Plus, I felt self-concious about playing ABBA  - now I can listen to my songs without worry!! :D :driving:

But! I loved the Roaster on wide open country roads with the wind in my hair!

Just play some Jimmy Buffett when you have the top down in populated areas, you'll get tons of compliments - about the car AND about the music.

I had the top down in Philly last night, and again this afternoon and into tonight... no hassles, not even in South Philly. Lots of looks and smiles.
