Hi guys,
I have been looking into getting the Alpina version of the Z4 and just wondering if things like reliability are good for this model as I have tried searching various articles and haven't seen a bad word said about it.

Well apart from it not being as good as the M version and no Limited-slip-diff etc.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated 8)

Mechanically the reliability and quality is exceptional. They do suffer from the usual build quality issues with regard to interior trim etc the same as any other Z4. No big deal though. You can fit an aftermarket LSD or just fit a complete E46 M3 rear as I did. I found the Alpina to be an excellent choice and I'm not sure why it wouldn't be considered as good if not better than the Z4M. It has every option as standard ( provided it has the lux pack which most do ), 19's, the same excelleration time as the M, higher top speed, better fuel economy, more torque thoughout the range, lighter weight, cheaper servicing and is much more exclusive. You may find that a LSD isn't necessary unless you light up the tyres a lot exiting corners and drive with the DTC and DSC switched off permanently. The DTC is designed to immitate an LSD ( poorly I might add ) so I switch it off every time I get into the car otherwise the LSD and DSC are in conflict with each other. You can switch off the DTC and leave the DSC switched on if you prefer which is usefull.
