Alpina wheel alignment

Hi all,

Having my broken rear springs replaced next week, and new tyres.

Just found a local garage in Swansea that has a new hunter alignment system, and given the uneven wear on the fronts I think it's time to get done properly.

Question, does the Alpina have the same settings as a regular zed, or should I be going for something different.

Stuart had it done on #69 - see this post on the Alpina forum. Apparently they are also in the manual :D

Look in your supplementary manual: I don't believe it's on a Hunter systems settings, so they may have to do it manually. If you haven't got the manual, let me know and we'll organise a copy of ours for you :thumbsup:

BTW, did you get a warranty with it ? :o Bust springs already :cry:
 
#69 got set up with M geometry and I preferred it. Ade drove mine after it was done so he's a good neutral view on how mine handled compared to his. Although IIRC his comment was "they're all different" :D

I've driven more than I can remember, now, and they are! IIRC there isn't that much difference in settings (or am I thinking of the M3 and my B3S?). Isn't the M just a bit more camber-neutral and slightly more toe??
 
Much less toe in. The M geometry is close to neutral. The Alpina Register post linked to by Mark has the gory details

I'm a bit disappointed that #69's new owner hasn't made an appearance on either site.

Guess I should have checked the manual, but this my first alpina, and the first car that has ever included such detail in the manual.

Will be interesting to see how far out it is, and what difference it will make to the drive.

We met him today at Goodwood as he came along in #69 - nice bloke :thumbsup:

How's #69 holding up, is he still pleased?

As far as I can tell, he's not displeased but he has had a few issues... the ones I can remember were failed roof motor, and steering wheel controls not working for first 20 mins or so after starting. And one of the rear PDC sensors is missing
 
Bloody Hell! I dodged a bullet with the roof motor then. The drains were cleaned out and there was nothing major in there so hopefully they covered it under warranty.

The PDC sensor is odd. It had 3 and the control module replaced under warranty under my ownership.
