Yep, was £230 last year, so good news there then  £65 more to spend on the other "Alpina tax"

That parkers link is incorrect in quoting 238g CO2 anyway - there's no 'official' CO2 figure for the RS. If you go to the DVLA tax info site and stick in the details of your car (other people can put mine in if they want to look, reg:PEZ4404 make:BMW), you'll see that it says CO₂ Emissions: Not available.

This is because, as a small manufacturer, Alpina were exempt from providing certified CO2 readings for their vehicles (hence the PLG classification) and there's no mechanism for retrospectively changing it - the government confirmed this after the VW CO2-fiddling came to light

Perry - you sure on that tax number, mines showing as £295 this year (not due for renewal until October) ?

(link)
Mine arrived today to renew at the end of May - £235
Strangely enough, after I renewed it this morning, the postman arrived about 15 mins ago with my reminder

Ah yes, the reminder. The only organisation that mails reminders for free but if you want a SMS reminder you have to pay ….

Great little post this I am learning so much about a car I have had now for last 4 years!! Any more info?????
I do know that Alpina parts are more expensive though after my rear wheel hit a pot hole and had to buy one
from Germany for over £500. The other thing I found was when I wanted to replace any parts, like I have renewed
the shocks, springs, wishbones, and joints ect. I wanted like for like and you have to search for the items Alpina used.

Going back to the original post though, I would chose an Alpina again over the M, maybe that's because when I went
looking it was for an M and the one I test drove was not a good example! But sitting in the showroom with people
about to take it out for a test drive was the one I bought, while they after their test drive, were thinking about it. :D
