Alpina RS Lux oil leak

Morning all.

I've recently noticed a dry oil leak on my garage floor. The positioning of the leak is on the passenger side a few inches in from the sill behind the nearside front wheel.

Although I have limited access to underneath the car, I can see there is a small specic area where the oil drips onto the garage floor after a run.

Just going by the location of the leak corresponding with the engine bay lay out, any ideas what the issue maybe?

Could be a number of things if it's crept over and along pipework/under trays. I'd be using a torch and take a look for a source of dampness looking down from the top, then also jack the car up to check underneath.
 
Thanks for the response. On further inspection it seems to be coming from the front passenger side suspension leg, as their is an oil type residue splattered all around the wheel arch cover behind the front wheel.
 
Assuming your brakes are fine and not losing any brake fluid then it must be the strut (damper) seal that is leaking. If it's on the original 20 year old set then they will be well past their best :thumbsup:
 
Yes I'm starting to think the same. Whilst on subject & the possability of now having to change the front dampers. Do you have any recommendations on front coils for the Alpina RS? Tried Ebay & other online motor factors with no joy. I have the original part number & Icurrently have BMW looking into it with Alpina. Starting to think it will now be easier changing the front axle suspension components to BMW OEM if compatiable & safe to do so?

The previous owner of my Alpina installed Bilstien shock absorbers. I can dig out the part numbers for you if you like.

Here you go. The small box is the rear damper and the large one is the front. Looking through the old receipts this is is the B12 kit meaning these dampers are lower/firmer than factory spec.
