Quite possibly, and the Caymen would be faster than the Boxster, but that's not comparing like with like

The times I've seen for the ///MC are consistently 1-2 secs faster than the ///MR - the additional stiffness has benefits.

I would be very interested in seeing if an Alpina or ///MR with hardtop posts a faster time than without i.e. if the additional stiffness of the hardtop compensates for the additional weight. It would have to be with the same car/driver/conditions to make any meaningful comparison
