Alpina Roadster Tyres

Hi guys,

I haven't been on here in a long time as I haven't owned a Z4 for a long time :cry: . I used to own a 3.0Si coupe and loved every minute of it but had to get rid of it for insurance reasons. I have just picked up my new toy though, a 2006 Alpina Roadster S Lux. I just wanted to ask a question about tyres. I know that there is a big debate over run-flats vs non run-flats and my car needs 4 new tyres so I was considering changing to non run-flats mostly for a bit more comfort. I really just wanted some recommendations on what tyres you guys would put on? The tyres on it at the minute do seem to rub against the wheel arch when on full lock and was wondering if that was just due to the large wheels (19") or whether a different set of tyres might be better?

Alpina 's don't have run flats as standard.....

If you want standard, then it's the Michelin pilot sport. Personally I've just changed for vredestein sessanta (will check and post the link)

Thanks for the quick replies, Its much appreciated. I'm sorry, I just assumed because of my precios Z4 that they would be run flats, the rims are standard 19" Alpinas, the tyres on it at the minute are Michelin Pilot Sport Cups on all four corners, the sizes are 235/35/19 and 265/30/19. So do you guys think I should keep the Michaelins or change them to a different tyre?
 
Your choice. For me, I wanted to try something different. Originally I had the Pilot Sports on, changed to Pirelli Rosso's but found they wore very quickly (although grip etc was great). Changed to Vreds last October, so far very nice.... Good level of grip, and the tread pattern is very nice.

Other roadster owners will pop along shortly - I know Perry has stayed with the Michelins, but believe Stuart tried something different?

Well it will be used mostly as a weekend car so I think I'd be alright with a tyre that grips very well but wears a bit quicker. They're not very cheap tyres are they? I'm looking at around £1000 fitted for all four (tried blackcircles, the AA and a mechanic friend of mine who does a lot of work for me). The car is on registration AL05PNA, not sure if anybody on here knows it? I will take some pictures, I assume I have to upload them to a site like photobucket and just link them?
 
Nice reg plate there, Michael :) I would expect someone on here or thealpinaregister.com will know the car

I use photobucket to upload - some here use tapatalk, or Instagram.... Just put the pic in the IMG tags when you post :thumbsup:
