Alpina Roadster S for less than 8K!

I saw this a while ago and have been seriously tempted, given what's available to rival it in a 3.0 litre model.

I'm not far, so might pop in...

It's been on-sale for a number of months, now. It's a lot of miles on an 'S' engine, and it would warrant a thorough inspection and getting at least a few months' warranty for peace of mind. If the engine lets go (we know the headgaskets between cylinders are a weak point, after all) it's expensive to get the bits together. Fortunately, most of the other bits and pieces on there are boggo-Z4, so a suspension overhaul isn't too costly if she's a bit loose, and hopefully the initial early Roadster 'issues' will have been found and remedied by its 1 enthusiastic owner

There's better value out there IMO, though. Personally I think I'd avoid this one.

The price on the pictures show "9995" so must have dropped a bit.

Dear god... there must be people out there with spines of steel cos there's no way I could have covered serious mileage in my old e85 3.0se. The suspension was so hard I got rid within a year. Loved the car, if only they'd fitted springs! My brother (who's skinny) used to say it was the only car that made his fat wobble!

That's a nice car and obviously well looked after with one owner and FBMWSH. Now if it was red... 8)

The last one made was red, and is also for sale at Sytners, the owner obviously traded it in. It's an eye watering £17,995. There's been a few optimistic prices for low mileage examples. If only the rain would bugger off, prices might go up a little again!

Why would you trade it in :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

£17k is taking the P*&S a little, given the poor guy was probably given £11k trade in. I know they're limited edition, but £17k? :o

Hi All - I am a new poster to this site and spotted this thread. I have been to see this car about 4 or 5 weeks back, when I was working in Coventry for a few months on a project.

I am looking for an Alpina Roadster and wanted to see what this one was like (black not my colour but to see one in the flesh was a help). The dealers are in an industrial shed just off the M6. There were stacks of cars in there including at least one Ferrari. It was a little unnerving going in but they were very friendly, gave me the key and left me alone to view - no hassling, which was nice. In the flesh this car does look like it has done the miles. The wheels need refurbing, the engine bay looks like it has been across the desert!! Covered in dust. Cant' remember the bodywork exactly but i think it had some detail scratches etc. No real dents though. Interior was in good condition. I did not check the papers as it wasn't what I wanted but as it is a one owner then could be a bargain. It would scrub up well.

It's been on sale for quite a time. The sticker in the window still said £9995 or similar. I wonder how low they would go?

I am looking for a Blue (ideally Alpina Blue) Lux roadster. If anyone knows of one please let me know. Regards Berni Cashin.
