Alpina road tax?

Hi all,

Thinking of shopping for an Alpina Roadster and wondered what the road tax cost would be?

Conflicting reports and searching hasn't got me anywhere. Parkers says £260 but I've heard £190?

i have a 3 litre 2003 and pay £260, so i would be surpised if the 3.2 2004? alpina is £190
 
£260 - it's in the same band as the 3.0se Auto as it's got a 3.4l engine producing 238g/km of CO2.
 
It's based on the PLG rate for the Roadster S rather than CO2 emissions.
£215 this year.

Just totting up running costs as I only do 6K miles, some of that business and 2K in Europe a year so makes it viable.

I'm thinking it might become an appreciable asset as well if I keep the miles low.

Yep Glyn's right (he should be, he has one, too!) and we've just taxed ours for £215. They're classed as PLG, not under emissions. Which one you thinking of getting? I may have viewed it recently......

They are at that point in their life-cycle that they may just start to appreciate as, I'm sure you know, only 167 were registered in the UK and they are very sought-after when in good order. Get advice from current owners before plunging in....there are known issues you can be pre-warned about.

Yes, #258 is best avoided....even though he's knocked £2k off it in a month. Good for a test drive if you're local to it (and he'll let you!) as it does perform well...just a few too many issues to recommend it. Lovely Blue one in Bridgnorth....and the silver one in Leics looks good too. I've driven the Sterling grey (#097) in Lincs, too and can advise on that one if you ever fancy a look at it.

Many positives to Roadster S ownership, and not too many negatives. Road tax is a plus as is fuel consumption, insurance is a negative. Running costs (servicing etc) are reasonable, but Alpina-specific parts are F-expensive. So, when you view, look closely at the Alpina bits and ensure they are spot on as if not you need to barter hard (A wheel is £600 a corner, tyres (non-runflat) are £300 a corner, wheel badges will shock you, as will a missing 'S' on the boot at around £100, and a set of genuine overmats is £135). Homework is essential!

Drive one and it'll blow you (and just about everything on the road) away. Stunning car, unbelievable performance. The best Z4 by a mile :fuelfire: It even rides properly :driving:
