Alpina recommend replacing the VANOS washers

Apparently Alpina are recommending the VANOS washers on the B3S engine are replaced with special, hardened & heat-treated items (at £47 for the three), good news is that it appears to be possible to replace them without removing the VANOS so probably worth doing as preventative maintenance at some point

Alpina part no. for these is 11 36 225 (full BMW part # is 91 47 1 136 225)

I might... if you look at the 3rd page, someone is saying that you can order them through a Dutch BMW dealership for €10 each, so that's roughly £26 for 3 + P&P

I managed to get a refurbished VANOS from someone on here with anti rattle kit fitted etc. Worked a treat. I do have my spare vanos which hasn't been refurbished, so let me know if you're looking for a spare vanos to get fixed before replacing. I'm considering doing this one anyway to have as a spare.
