Who all is interested in a group buy? Once i get a good rough number i will contact (or see if curtis could contact) a BMW UK dealer to see about shipping and stuff. I am trying to figure out a way to get them for about 400-500 shipped to the US. I don't know if i will be successfully but i can always dream!

PS: I have contacted ALPINA directly to see what they can work!

You need to remember that the rear spoiler is only available in combination with the front, as a kit, not on it's own (as per the PDF brochure, alpina-automobiles.com) Alpina Germany also confirmed this to me by email.

The reason? the Alpina name only appears molded on the front spoiler, so they obviously want their Brand to show on the car. Let us know how your project moves going forward and I could be interested.

We know..

How about just buying 1 and sending it to a reputable fiberglass replicator... thats what we did back in the Honda days :)

That would be awesome..great idea..

If there is a group buy going on purely for the Alpina Rear spoiler please count me in!

(If its not possible to get an OEM spolier, replica would also be fine)

I managed to win an Alpina Front bumper on e-bay, so will help me get one more step towards a full alpina kit.

I just came across this, it's cheaper than the dealer but it's for both front and rear spoilers.

That does look slightly more reasonably priced (than from a dealer), but still looks pretty expensive, considering what it is!

I managed to pick up a genuine Alpina front bumber, including splitter for £120 in P&P.

If anyone is just looking for the front spoiler, I would go in halves.

Otherwise I will have to keep a close eye on breakers / e-bay.

If there is the option of a group buy, or production of some fibreglass replica's that would sound like the ideal situation.

Ok so i got a response back from Alpina-usa --> http://www.alpina-usa.com/ Here is what they said

So it looks to be about 900ish plus paint. I am still seeing about working a better deal! i will keep you updated!

I've had a very similar response from the UK, although through www.bmwstyle.co.uk

£515 painted and fitted (Approx $1030)

Still seems quite expensive for what it is.

Looks like their website has been hijacked or they forgot to renew the domain.

Uhh, the Alpina USA catalog lists the type 538 spoiler at $920 standard. Are they offering us a discount off the marked up price? Bastards.

Raise your hand if you're serious about the fiberglasser. We would need to buy 1 real one, most likely. I can contact a kit maker i know if yall are serious.

Count me in for a fibre glass one.

Would need a ball-park figure on cost however, if its not much price difference I may just fork out £500 for a painted spoiler from the UK.
