Alpina front splitter, any experience, and where to buy?

I am thinking of getting an Alpina front splitter for my 2003 Z4 3.0.

Does anyone know where you can find these, are they a dealer part? Or do I just have to keep an eye on ebay for a used one.

Also does anyone already have one fitted and know what the clearance is like? I have the sport supsension on my Z4 so it sits quite low, and even slightly rubs on the odd big speed bump. Does the Alpina splitter sit much lower than the standard bumper? Just a little concerned that it may compromise the car a little.

I'd be interested to know that too. I've got a feeling it does sit slightly lower which instantly rules it out for me, but I really do like the Alpina front end...

It does sit low, and i do tend to have to avoid all kurbs.

Not a problem on any of the speed bumps i've come accross, but unless i get it just right (and dead slow) it scrapes in and out of the work carpark.

It's had to be repaired now after a nice audi driver insisted on going straight accross me from inside of the roundabout accross three lanes to turn off forcing me to run up a kurb or side swipe him :headbang: (wish i'd done the latter now! )

I've contemplated going back to standard, but it does look cooooooooool

and presumably you'd need the mesh for the holes?

I think the SE front needs something changed but have no cash at the moment :(

Think the mesh is the same? Deffinatly locates to the original bumper mounting pins.

Thanks guys. I've seen that one on eBay, but think I'd prefer just the splitter, as it would need painting to match my car (Titan silver) I think it would be cheaper to paint and fit a splitter than a whole bumper.

Let me know if you see one

Splitter easily detaches from the bumper. So you wouldnt need to spray both bumper and splitter.

That said, your unlikely to spot one which wont need some work from a bodyshop. Most second hand splitters will have stone chips etc,

You can buy the splitter brand new from M-style for £250 or £350 painted

FYI: I have the original Alpina mounting instructions for the front (and rear) splitter if anyone needs, just PM me.

I like the alpina front - but i think you would need aero skirts to complete the look.

There have been a few knocking around on ebay over the last few weeks - all for under £100
