Alpina Differential

Hey guys having a bit of a nightmare sourcing a diff for my alpina 3.4 S, BMW have quoted me 33107514150 part number for a diff which is out of a 2.5 and 3.0 SMG, was also discontinued upto april 06. I stuck that into google and found this

New part number is the same but with a 149 at the end. I have managed to source a diff with this part number. Its the same Ratio i think... well 1 has i=3,23 and the other has I=42:13=3,23 does anyone know know much about this? I can cancel my order today as i've arranged pickup tomorrow. Any help on this would be really appreciated. I would go get myself a new diff, but i can't justify spending £1000 + on a new diff at this stage.

It probably doesn't list the Alpina application because the website doesn't list Alpina at all.

Changeover from one part number to the other is not uncommon.

To add more confusion, RealOEM shows the 3.0si number changed from 33107514150 to 33107565145.
 
mmm-five this is exactly the problem im having :( i've spent hours trying to source the correct part and getting nowhere really. I have ordered a diff. 33107514149 its 3,23 ratio but who knows if its going to be correct or not. Will just have to wait and find out. really feeling physically sick, im not bothered about upgrading anything as yet I just need the car working and on the road, So that i can get cracking and sell my 3.0i SE
 
Srhutch ive been on the phone to them already m8, they only upgrade the diffs.. whereas i think I need an entire diff. oil leaking and terrible grinding noises they said sounds like the bearings and maybe the pins etc have gone, which is not something they replace
 
Hey guys, good news! got a diff for £200 that had done about the same mileage as the car.... BMW gave me that part number with 150 at the end, just so turned out i got the exact same part number lol :D really happy, falling in love with the car, its a bloody machine! Much to be done before i will get photos up. Thanks for all your advice
