Alpina Alternator Question

Hi fellow Alpina owners.
Our car is in for a new alternator and the mechanic seems to be having trouble locating the correct alternator, therefore i am wondering whether any one else has had this problem and what alternator/part number/manufacturer did you plump for.

Many thanks in advance for your replies. :driving:

Alpina parts can be slightly different from the standard Z4 units, if you phone Sytner Notts, they'll give you the price/part # for a replacement but, as long as the car's not a DD, the cheapest way is to have the Alpina unit refurbished

IIRC Zedwheels fitted a standard Z4 alternator as a temporary measure while his Alpina one was refurbished but there was some farting about with the plug on the top connector

Cheers for the reply Perry, we have had to go down the refurb route which is a bit of a pain but not as bad as the cost of a new replacement one from BMW/Alpina which was fairly eye watering.

Good choice, I'd do the same, there's no reason why a properly rebuilt and tested unit shouldn't be as good as the original...
