will collect my 2004 2.5i z4 at the end of this week!

bought a car with some bad bits, hence a really good deal. And I can upgrade over time. Most important flaws: scratch in the roof and roof motor not working

previous owner upgraded the springs to eibachs after one broke

it's on 19" wheels right now, would prefere to downgrade to 17 or 18" for more comfort, this will be my daily driver

Welcome to the forum from another Belgian  .

Before you change to smaller wheels, get some normal tyres in stead of run-flats, it will give you a much better ride
Hope you get all the flaws fixed, Roof motor is quite expensive to fix though :(

Hi and welcome, roof and motor not to expensive if you can find one on ebay and fit yourself.

that's the plan

I'll buy one of these repair patches for the roof, and manually open and close the roof for the time being

in the mean time, I'll hunt for a new/used roof and the roof motor on ebay. As soon as I've found both, I'll do the repair (together with a friend; we've both worked on landrovers, so a BMW should be a piece of cake :driving: )

collected the Z4 yesterday, and had a nice 180km drive back home. Average fuel consumption 7,4 :o , and I wasn't trying to be economical!

the bad news:

-rims are in worse condition than expected. Wasn't going to keep them anyway, but I will have to be lucky to find someone who wants to swap for 17 or 18". No possible profit here
- bit of damage on the drivers side (few dents with paint chipped off). Got a quote of 400 euro from my dealer to repair and respray the door and rear body panels.

the good news:

I lubricated the roof joints, fiddled a bit with the manual release switch in the boot, and, the roof works! Without hickups. Seems that I won't have to replace the roof motor!!
