So I just picked the Zed up from storage yesterday, where it has sat un touched for over a month. It started up just fine, but the engine began misfiring. I let it run for a few minutes and tapped the gas, and it started running fine. Is this normal for a Zed to do? My Jeep will sit for 5-6 months and starts up and runs perfect every time.

Then I was driving off base and the car started shuttering like the tires were out of allignment. That turned out to be that the road was grooved to stop people from speeding. haha, woops.
 
These soft high performance tires might flat spot a bit, you'll have to get some heat back in them. Did you put some Sta-bil in the gasoline before you stored it? In the owner's manual there is a list of things to do if you have to store your car for a while. The Jeep is definitely not as "high strung" as the Z. Old tech, old school engine.
 
Often have to leave mine for 4 months at a time. Trickle charger for the battery, plus 5 psi in the tyres to overinflate (to prevent/reduce flat spots), try to leave the tank as empty as possible (last quarter of a tank). Sometimes a bit of a stutter on initial start but after a few seconds runs as sweet as a nut. Tank fill at the first opportunity. Take the first few miles at a steady pace to ensure the oil reaches the major component areas without due stress to the engine as it will certainly hgaver drained away during storage.
 
some useful points there Alan J will be storing mine for about 3 months this winter ..... have you ever had any problems with the hood as it won't have been functioned for quite a few months ?
 
Is it worth turning the engine over with the fuel pump fuse removed to circulate the oil a little without the engine firing :)
 
Thanks for the replys guys. It is running great, with no problems now. Now that I know it is ok, I am removing my CDV thursday and my Eibachs should be in next week.
