"Almost-always-on" 12v sockets

I'm looking for a 12v supply that comes on and stays on when the car is unlocked (rather than ignition based). E90s apparently have an "awake" circuit that is controlled by a number of events (unlock, door open etc).

Does the Z4 have an equivalent?
 
I don't think you will find any circuit that stays live when the car is unlocked. If you find one it will probably die after 15 minutes when the car shuts down.
 
ba3bas is right - the cig lighter socket is always on. I have a blackberry car charger plugged in most of the time, just checked and the wee red light is still on, doors locked over 3 hours ago.

OP wants it off though when the car is locked.

No mention of it turning off just that it stays on, which the cig lighter does.
No point complicating the matter :poke:
 
What about tapping into the earth from the interior lights? So use an always on current like the ciggy for power but the earth from the door switch would turn it on and off after a set time?
