Alloy wheel damage - Repairable?

:thumbsdown: Badest Pothole, in the driving line, when i stopped and checked, a Ford focus smashed into it and now makes some awful noises as he came back to see what happened and another car had x2 tyres blown out, while i was actually still at the scene

any idea if this alloy could be fixed, its in a pretty bad way :cry:


 
It can be fixed by a specialist, you'll want to get an alignment check on the car too :thumbsup:
 
The wheel looks to me a write off, but I would be very concerned about your suspension and wishbones ...
 
Jeez :headbang: . I'd go and get the suspension checked out like the others said. You're probably best off having the wheel checked out before making a decision.

Either way, absolutely take the council to the cleaners!
 
I certainly wouldn't repair a wheel with the damage shown in the photograph - take photographs of the pothole and you damage and submit a claim to the local council. As others get the alignment and suspension, steering checked.
 
That's pretty fucked - I'd go with the others, that's a write-off & check the suspension. Is the tyre still inflated though ? If so I'm impressed...
 
Its a shame tbh as they are 18" Ac-Schnitzers, i'll never be able to replace the one alloy

i've checked inside the arch and the struts, all appears to be straight and true, but i'll get the tracking checked though and they can double check everything else also.

It appears the alloy is the only thing thats damaged, even the tyre appears fine, its not even deflated :o

if i can get it fixed i would prefer that option, rather than replace them all :(
 
Even the tyre bead would be too damaged to risk after that impact, I would not even use that.

Contact ACS I'm sure they will supply a single unit. There is a limit to what can be repaired and in any event the wheel will need splitting and repainting to match the remaining three which may prove difficult in terms of colour match. I would suggest that such a repair if possible will compromise the integrity of the wheel.

Make the claim to the local authority concerned and perhaps get a new set of wheels out of it.
 
There is a guy i know with a machine ( looks like a Wonka type contraption :oops: ) that heats the buckle slowly over a period of time whilst applying gentle but continual pressure with clamps & cramps
The machine is designed to straighten buckles but i'm not sure that is a buckle :D that's had a serious change of profile :cry:
You can courier the wheel to me for £10 & i'l leave it with him but i think its time to cut loose & find the car some new shoes , even if straightened the wheel would be seriously weakened :( shame as you say as the ACS are a nice wheel & hard to find in singles
 
take all the photos of the pot hole get as much evidence off others if you can .get the hole car checked ,and then submit the claim for repairs to the council .
one of my work mates had a brand new 3 series his wife was driving the car and went down a trench that had been backfilled and the tarmac had sunk.3 new alloy wheels 2 tyres and suspension replaced all the claim was handled by bm .never costs him a penny

your alloys are way nicer, i'd love a set of them lol :)
 
i'll see what the council say tomorrow and take it from there, i may have to put a steely on as the car is used daily, thanks for all your input guys ;)
