Refurb cost plus the secondhand value of your wheels, no brainer if you ask me.

Probably a very good route to go, but aren't all large alloys prone to cracking?

Well each to their own but I am a fan of black alloys and if you were to go black on the white E89 I think the black M sport front grilles would complement the look, as for spending money on 326 alloys I would not being one of the many that have fell victim of the infamous cracking issues. I have silver alloys and they show the dirt and dust as badly as black ones in my opinion. Also putting some time and effort on detailing the discs and callipers can help show a off a nice set of alloys.

I've had 3 Zeds all with 19" wheels, one had the notorious 296 wheels. Maybe I've been lucky or maybe it's down to the limited miles I do each year but I've never had any cracked wheels. Obviously if it's for a daily drive it up's the chance of getting a damaged wheel significantly.

It just seems to be BMW wheels. It was a huge problem with both 18 and 19" wheels on the 3 series. The problem is that non M vehicles get cast wheels, combine that with low profile tyres and you have a recipe for cracking. Aftermarket cast wheels crack less but are usually heavier and made of a softer compound which is less likely to crack but more likely to buckle.

I’m opting for BMW Ferric grey on my titanium silver beast. I too am a little bored with silver on silver on 326’s so thought I’d give it a go and it’s booked in for Tuesday. Had a quick google and even though not a Z4 it gives you an idea against the white.07A3886B-E569-42F9-8EB5-5D74D78694E6.jpeg

Baron, I'm definitely going back to silver when mine are due a refurb. Or probably at its next tyre change which will be soon enough. I don't mind the black at all, but I still think it was a bit of a fad brought about by 'black edition' cars. A bit noughties if you like. I can understand the chav comments also. But I'm an old fat guy, so I don't really give a monkeys. I look a proper bell end driving my car, whatever the wheel colour. 20190308_150105.jpg

I admire your integrity of objectivity reference yourself..sadly when I look in the mirror I come to the same conclusions..

I'd like to revise my statement on 326M wheeels in black..

I think it does matter the specifcs of the shape/colour of the car and the ditto the wheels..

The 326M looks a bit chavvy to me anyway, its obviously a personal thing..reminds me of mercs with spidery wheels and oversized discs..

I've seen a few 326M in black and it doesn't improve it..IMHO..

So I think sell the 326Ms for a shed load of money and get some CSLs type in black..but I would say that woudn't I..

Well thanks for all the responses... guess Ill move the final decision towards the end of the list now. I think I still have a Burberry check shirt and Hackett cap in the wardrobe... if Im drawn towards the dark side! Peter your car is looking good as always and Trav I've seen your car also and its stunning... if you've got it, flaunt it! 8)
