Well I've been toying with the idea of new alloys recently, and today was the first time since I've had it we've had a good amount of rain...
The tyres have plenty of tread on them, but after looking they are wanli tyres. Quick google tells me they are budget. This was confirmed by the sliding and poor traction it had even at low speed round corners, and further googling tells me they are indeed crap in the wet.
So to conclude, push has moved to shove and I want to be safe rather than sorry. But to get both I'm going to have to go down the finance root. I have no idea what my m3 alloys are worth (not sure if they are reps).
Which continues to my question... What is a good internet firm to buy from who does finance, and also are there any brands of alloys to steer towards/away from? I can find out about tyres as there are a million and one threads re tyres!
I don't really want to spend any more that £500ish on alloys and nothing that looks too "busy" and with tyres it's going to hit near the £1000 mark I would imagine. And I'm also looking for 19". Also what width alloys am I really looking for, my current tyres are 225/255 but can't see anywhere what tells me the width of my current alloys front and rear but I'm assuming that would be different anyway for 19" to the 18" that are currently fitted.
Edit:
I'm half tempted to do these http://www.bmautosport.co.uk/showro...6_298&osCsid=232f37ec1193f560eb24599970aab1c8 with one of their tyre packages (which one?) and slap it on the credit card.... But she may shoot me. And I just showed her and she wasn't so keen on the look! Wtf!
Cheers.
