Allignment question

I have just had the allignment done when it was serviced as it was quite out. However I am now planning on ditching the runflats for falken 452s. Does putting new tyres on effect the allignment at all?
 
Shouldn't do. But alignment is something that you should really have checked every year or so. Roads are in such a shocking state that there's a high chance hitting a pothole will throw it out straight away :thumbsdown:
 
How much is alignment? - Is it still the KDS they did on the Z3?

My Z3 went out practically every 6 months and it cost £170 at BMW each time.

What I really want to know is before I buy a Z4 (and I have seen one btw :) )

Can anyone recommend a good place to get get this done and NOT at BMW? - I was also told by BMW (2002/03) that I needed new tyres each time it went out because the tyres treads wore un-evenly and this sent the alignment out. (I didn't of course, that would be silly)

I currently have a Mini Cooper S Works and because the body is sooo rigid I have to get the alignment adjusted only once a year (as a11y suggests), the biggest reason for this (so I was told by BMW) is because of the 17" Runflats, the walls are too rigid, they give nothing when a hole the diameter of Coventry hoves in to view, practially all of the impact is taken by the suspension.

Saying that, they are safer..

I'm jut down the road in Shenstone.

Currently working with a shop in Daventry that's a long way off, but specialises in this sort of set up and done work on several buddies cars (Lotus , VX220, etc.) and has a long history in setting up Bimmers.

My friends in the tyre shop in Shenstone (Tyresales) who specialise in high end performance cars, will do a cracking job of setting it up to OEM, but I just happen to need different things dialling in that is outside of their remit.

That is very handy to know matey... Will be in touch when I'm all Z'edd up, I've learn't over the years to get a KDS done as soon as possible to cut out the hassle of scrapping tyres that are only worn on the shoulders.

Joe - where are you and what should I be keeping an eye out for as I drive our local roads?

Mine is somewhat distinctive :roll:
