So no record of running in service then?

First three services at same dealer, would have thought they would have done that as well.

Surely it's unusual for a car to be for sale with private plates? I would also be concerned that this was a car recovered by the finance people from someone who didn't keep up the payments and maybe couldn't afford to service it either.

Unless you can get for a ridiculously low price I would be walking away.

Have you check the MOT history?

https://www.check-mot.service.gov.uk/

Whilst it appears that the car has not failed an MOT in the last seven years, there are some anomalies with the dates of the MOT tests - I wonder why?

Most dealers would realise that Z4MCs appear to be quite sought after, so again I'd want to investigate why they are auctioning it.

Well worth the risk if you can get that for £12k ish....if it goes beyond £15k then it would be hard to justify the risk of buy as you see it

When you get it home and twig whatever the reason is the dealers are punting it..

you might wanna review the "FFS" number plate

Yes it is strange about the plates. I spoke to the dealership that's putting it in auction, they mentioned that it was received as part exchange but wouldn't give me any further details.

Considering same year and mileage go for about £20k, would you consider £13/14k to be a 'ridiculously low price'?

No records of running in service though from the following warranty history the first owner seemed quite picky.

  • - [ ] 12/02/2008 catalytic converter making noise - 21,043km
    - [ ] 10/03/2008 shock absorber front axel making noise - 22,000km
    - [ ] 14/04/2008 oxygen control sensor permanent malfunction - 23,456km

Why are these mileages listed in KM?

Jap import perhaps?

anything more than 13k and I'd walk away, too many unknowns for me and the lack of running in service concerns me.

Its miles on the dash. :|
I know clocks can be changed but the earlier mention of services was in miles too.

There was one the same colour doing the rounds on ebay a few month back, similar money, Cat C, needed a respray, so if you can find any signs of overspray, orange peeled panels, someone might be trying to pull a fast one.
