All set and first ride with the roof down.

Took the new car for a short ride and called in at the Dealer's this morning to take in the logbook for the ///MC that I traded in on Tuesday (I put my own plate onto retention so had to wait for a new V5C, which was sent out very quickly).

Whilst I was there the Sales Manager got me to sign up for 4 years coverage under "BMW Shortfall" and threw in a complimentary one year subscription to the BMW Car Club GB courtesy of the dealership. So, with 3 years warranty, 3 years Concierge / connected drive services / BMW assist / roadside services, I'm all set for quite a while and can get on and enjoy the car. :D

It was such a nice. sunny day that I had the roof down and enjoyed playing with the paddle shifts both on the way in and back and was very happy with the performance / acceleration - better than expected and much less hassle than my ///MC.

Happy days!! :driving:

Enjoy having the roof down. Not sure about the less hastle than a stick shift and clutch though. :P

It was more the ride and clearance on the roads around here, rather than the stick shift / clutch.

I see. :) Can't comment on the ride of an MC. Loving your replacement though. 8)

Errm no point moaning about that after lowering & stiffening the M from the stock set up
i thought the ///M i had was a very compliant ride but believe the Coupe's ride much harsher
The E89 is always going to feel refined by comparison , glad you're enjoying the switch
Ps / any interior pics ?

Very nice place to get some miles covered David , any plans for roadtrips ?
Not really Andy; I was thinking of the Lakes meeting but the hotel's full on the Saturday. Some of my former naval mates are trying to get me to go to Pompey for a reunion in July, but I hate reunions!

I might go for a solo run over to Horseshoe Pass in the near future as it's only about 35 miles away.

Just had the roof down on mine too. Although it was because I bought a curtain pole and it didn't fit in the car otherwise.

Enjoy your Zed!

Don't let the hotel situation stop you coming to the National. I've been to the last 5 and camped everytime having not previously been in a tent since I was a kid. :D
Can highly recommend and will be a chance to meet some great forumites and have some fun in your lovely new car.

I'm too old for camping these days and I like a glass or two whilst socialising after the driving's over, so only a hotel at the site would really work. Maybe next year (if I'm spared as my old Father-in-Law used to say!).
