All red is too red...?

This is how my rear lights look now, but a little worried I'll get pulled for having red indicators, and a red reverse light... let alone try to pass an MOT.

Not sure how this was done by the previous owner, how easy is it to remove the rear light clusters and replace for mot etc.

Also, this might affect insurance if someone didn't see my "indicator" in the event of an accident...?

Looks gorgeous, but dont wanna push it too much.

What do you guys think? A way around this?

Dont like it personally. Dont know how you would get on at MOT time - do the indicators flash orange or red?

Rear lights themselves are quite simple to change over though

I like the clean look, all one colour, and kinda oem. The indicators flash more red than orange... :?

It'd def fail an mot, and I dont have any original lights for MOT time... darn, gonna have to buy a set or rear lenses I guess.

There is some discussion about reds in another thread recently - the suggestion is to put green bulbs in to make it flash orange...

Wouldnt fix the red reversing light though...

I have a near side rear light cluster from when I replaced mine with Clear indicator spots...

Yep - don't worry about the reversing light - it's not part of the MOT (I had a broken one on my Mini, was lazy and never fixed it but went through 3 MOTs no problem).

That sounds like a better option! :D Now to trawl ebay for green bulbs or green leds!

I really like this all red look, makes it look clean and simple!
Me and my boyfriend are sure the older Peugeot 206's have fully red rear lenses and the polo mk 4's do to!
So i cant see it failing an MOT!
My boyfriend has bluey looking indicator bulbs in his Mini CooperS Clubman which glow up pretty red, and he got them from halfords so i believe thats road legal to!
Definately leave the red on red rear lights, there real nice :D

Don t get me weong Im the first to tinker and fettle with bits and bobs on cars but I can t get my head round this pre occupation with anything departing from the oem look (which in itself is nt ugly) just to risk breaking the law. Indicarors have to show amber, its the law Reversing lights work better if their white ,its sense, and tail, fog and brake lights should show red, its been that way pretty much since cars got lights(in the UK at least)
I can t help thinking this whole fad with lights was kicked off when Lexus first came up with the frankly outstanding idea to make their rear light clusters appear clear and since then the slaves to fickle fashion that we are, evrything with four wheels from here to Halfords tries to look like something a pink Floyd concert would be proud of.

I saw a Peugeot 206CC this afternoon in silver, looked like the rear light cluster had been painted the same silver as it matched 100%, liked crap and could hardly see the lights, hop plod pulls them soon.

Well to be fair thats how the car came when I bought it, but I do prefer all one colour. I think most people try to get away from the "orange" hence people opening headlights to remove the orange... its usually just for a cleaner look.

I would prefer the indicators to flash orange, I'm not trying to break any laws with it, so I will be experimenting with some different coloured bulbs to get a more orange flash. As for the reverse light... not bothered about it, enough street lights about these days :P

take a look if there isn't a red decal over the orange, that's what I have on mine (legal in Canada)
I'd check as well. On my car I placed red vinyl over the orange.

For the side blinkers I purchased the clear ones. They can be found here and probably on ebay for cheaper.
