All I want for Christmas is...

I am so envious 8) I wasn't allowed gears and I had to settle for this (I loved this bike though :D - great skids, jump off when still moving and watch it crash  ) -
My kid bro had a brown one of them. He loved it but really wanted a chopper like mine.
He wanted me to give it to him if i ever got a new bike but sadly it was finally killed off in a freak wheelie-fail-handlebar&frame-bending freak accident. He was utterly inconsolable...for about 2 minutes.

These bikes did have a mind of their own :w00t: Thinking back though, there was loads of gravel on the roads in the 70s to do skids - not so much now. I drive down the same roads today (to my parents) and they are totally tarmac'd and skid free  Some might say "Safe" :chicken:

Raleigh Chopper was far too posh for us peasants in the north of Scotland....think there might have been 1 kid in school that had one( there always is)
Sturmey Archer 3 speed gears as far as I can remember.

LOL

I think most people would be hiding the "evidence"

Chris_D - nice chopper!

But as a mere youngster you have to be aware that you had an LCI in BMW speak!

A school class-mate of mine had an orange original with the T-bar gearchange mounted on the cross-bar tube frames (between your conkers) and the adjustable handle-bar yoke - hope he still has it now!

Lci?
Actually, it was a totally unexpected, but welcome surprise and i was over the moon when i got it as i seem to remember.
I recall i was actually trying to coax the parents into getting me some footy boots so i could join in me mates kickabouts at the park down the road. They came later in march for my birthday, as well as a liverpool at home strip. Yay!
However, if i wore the strip to the kickabouts i'd invariably get the living sh!t kicked out of me due to most of the others being everton fans. :D

Edit. Tawdry spelling

Life Cycle Impulse.

Generally a small model update which fixes all the things that failed on the previous model. Yours is the non LCI version (obviously)

I survived chopper ownership in the seventies as well chris (apart from riding into a parked car once)
I'm not owning up to sandals & socks though
