now that ive had the new wheels fitted and let the lowered suspension settle for about 6 weeks its now time for full geo. ive found a company called Tyre Exchange in Middlesbrough that are supposed to have a hunter machine, my questions are -
1.has anyone any experience of alignment from this company? and
2.are there any options for e85 set up? (in simple terms please as i ve no idea what 'toe-in' etc is)

I've never had any dealings with Tyre Exchange, but I did take mine to Revolution in Gateshead who have this equipment.

I don't know what all the angles are called, but they showed me an exagerated version of what my wheels are doing on the computer and it appears that they're pointing everywhere and all at wonky angles!

I'm taking it back to get the adjustments made shortly (car needed a couple of repairs first) so will report back on what, if any difference it makes to the car. :driving:

Blue, how much are revolution charging? Tyre exchange tell me all the work to reset factory setting will be 65 or 70 quid. I've booked the zed in for the work on Saturday next week. I expect my wheels will be pointing all over the place too. Can't wait for the car to run straight with the steering wheel in the correct position!

Got mine done at Teesdale Tyre and Auto Centre in Thornaby right next door to Alexander's the Saab Dealers. 4 wheel alighnment done on a Jim Bean Machine which I was told is a Snap On kit which uses cameras to check all alignments and settings. All information is displayed on a monitor for you to see whats happening and what they are doing. I am very satisfied with the work they done for me and it only cost me £33 for everything. That is with a £3 discount voucher that you can download and print of their website. I highly recomend them and will defenitly take my other cars there. Brilliant setup.

Cheers z4rex. Half price and all the benefits! What's not to like..... especially when it comes with a recommendation

Ah - I may need to go here then, to put the Z4 right Revolution wanted nearer to £100!!

I think I may have to pay Teesdale Tyre and Auto centre a visit!! :driving:

Finally got the car to teesdale this morning. Laser said the rears We re ok but fronts well out. The ARM had seized so applied a bit of heat and het presto; a straight steering wheel! Cost 22.50 would ve been 36 if needed to adjust the rears. Very prof set up. :D

Definately one to remember when I need mine redone next year.
Thanks for the heads up.
